[CCBC-Net] Funny YA Books

The Dear Dumb Diary series by Jim Benton is very popular in our libraries. I read the first one and I can see why middle school kids would find them humorous.

I love Eoin Colfer's books, especially Half Moon Investigations. I'm reading Benny and Omar now--I like Colfer's dry sense of humor.

I haven't read them, but my daughter and my wife love them! I think your description is probably right on the nose.

"Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and find the answers. And the wonderful thing is that once a child learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open ... every child in America should have access to a well-stocked school or community library"

My vote for the funniest YA series goes to the Georgia Nicolson books by Louise Rennison, including _Knocked Out by my Nunga Nunga's_. I read them as an adult, but still laughed out loud through every one. She reminds me of a teenage Bridget Jones, with all the British colloquialisms and what with it being in a diary format.
When the dreary folks in Forks are getting you down, Georgia's antics will pick you right back up!
