My third grade teachers are looking for a new book to replace "On the Banks of Plum Creek" for thier classroom core lit. They want something that's not too challenging with great boy appeal. It doesn't have to be a classic, although it would be nice if it was. They already read "Charlotte's Web", so they don't want another animal fiction title. Theyve also considered doing an "author study," where children can choose among several titles by one author (ex: Roald Dahl). I'd love suggestions. It seems that the titles I was suggesting were a bit advanced for their group of readers. Thank you.
