These revelations about the effect,legacy, and persona of Judy Blume are fascinating. I'm an older generation than most of the people who have written thus far, so I did not have the experience of growing up with Judy Blume. I still don't know if I'm brave enough to read FOREVER. But when, well into adulthood, I read ARE YOU THERE, GOD...., I nearly wept for wishing I'd had that book when I went through that time in my life--which in those days, at least for me, was sheer misery.
