I love Sandra Boynton's board books, and have long given a few of these as baby gifts, along with the board book version of Peggy Rathmann's GOODNIGHT, GORILLA, which I think made a wonderful transition from picture book to board book.? Parents have appreciated these, enjoying the rhymes and humor (written and illustrated) of the Boynton books, and the cozy, funny, follow-the-various-antics illustrations of GOODNIGHT, GORILLA.
? Two of my absolute favorite board books, which work beautifully for lapsit/baby bounce and pre-school storytimes, are CLAP YOUR HANDS:?AN ACTION BOOK (Handprint Books, c.2001)?and TEN IN THE BED: A COUNTING BOOK (Handprint Books, c.2000), both by David Ellwand,? Sadly, these are out of print.
