[CCBC-Net] Library censorship

Actually, some of us are held by the same "no politics" rule because we receive the services of this list-serv at our work addresses. While it is allowable to receive educational and informational material at our work sites, the added input of politics makes this less desirable.

Hi, KT--et al,

Sorry I used the word "rule"-- and thank you, KT, for the policy outline.

I'm sorry I was one of the folks who got carried away! I sent in another post or two a few minutes before reading yours--am not sure if they're in violation or not, actually, since the discussion seems to have in many cases gone beyond its political component.

I do understand the need for university employees to refrain from politicking. It does cross my mind, though, that those of us who post on this list aren't employees--and indeed some of us aren't librarians or in positions that might be bound by similar policies --which I guess makes for a very awkward situation--non-employees expressing views on a university sponsored forum. How very tricky that makes it--I don't envy your situation here, and I respect your

need to adhere to the policy.

What an interesting discussion the current one on Parallel Perspectives" is!

Best--and thanks again for the policy clarification.

Nancy
