[CCBC-Net] Minders: Bookwomen

I want to chime in with everyone else as to how much I've enjoyed this discussion. Thank you so much, Leonard! I also have one more question: have you seen Jacalyn Eddy's Bookwomen: Creating an Empire in Children's Book Publishing 1919-1939 (University of Wisconsin Press, 2006)? There is so little material apart from yours about children's book publishing history that I wanted to bring this book about Anne Carroll Moore, Alice Jordan, Louise Seaman Bechtel, May Massee, Bertha Mahoney Miller, and Elinor Whitney Field to the attention of the list, and also ask your opinion, if you've read it. I've only just received my copy of Minders so don't know if you mention it there.

Well, thanks for this message. About the Anne Carroll Moore photo you are hoping for: I'm not aware of one in which Nicholas appears, but I may have seen one and forgotten it, or not seen one that does exist. I would think that it would belong to the NY Public Library's collections, if theresuch a photo to be found anywhere. I can picture Nicholas but that may be just because the story of the wooden doll and what it (he?) represented is so intriguing.
