As Norma Jean pointed out, the New Yorker article "The Lion and the Mouse" by Jill Lepore draws from Leonard Marcus's new book, "Minders of Make-Believe: Idealists, Entrepreneurs, and the Shaping of American Children's Literature" (Houghton Mifflin, 2008). It also is, along with trends in children's literature from the latter half of the twentieth century to today, our CCBC-Net topic for the second half of July.

We will officially start the "Minders of Make-Believe" discussion this Thursday--Leonard Marcus will be joining us and responding to questions and comments from members of the CCBC-Net community.

If you don't have access to Leonard's new book before then, we hope you can--as so many have suggested--read the New Yorker article. It makes a great launching point for our discussion.
