[CCBC-Net] GLBTQ lit

This raises an interesting question--how many circs does a book need to have to stay in a library collection? What about those readers who wouldn't check out GLBTQ books, but would read them in the library (as I did when I was a teen)? Should we have different standards for weeding based on subject matter?

Oh, I forgot about that one. We added one copy last year (publisher's sample) and I just noticed that it has circ'd only three times. I gave it to a community that I thought would be more receptive to its message.

Here's another title that I bought in 2006--Gender Blender by Blake Nelson, about two middle schoolers (female and male) who switch bodies and experience life as the opposite sex. Interesting, I bought two copies then and just noticed they have circ'd 20-something times each.
