[CCBC-Net] an off subject request

Hi Everyone--
I'm a member of CCBC who reads much and writes little. I occasionally weigh in on nonfiction topics because that's what I know about. I truly hope this isn't an outrageous thing to do, but I have a request for the teachers and librarians among you.
I have a book that just came out called See How They Run: Campaign Dreams, Election Schemes, and the Race to the White House. It discusses democracy, the electoral process and kids becoming informed and involved. To help kids get thinking about these issues, I created the KIDS SPEAK OUT survey--an anonymous, nonpartisan way for them to give their opinions about voting and some of the problems facing our country and the new president.

The survey can be accessed by going to _www.seehowtheyrunbook.com_
(http://www.seehowtheyrunbook.com) which takes you to my web site where you can click on the Take the Kids Speak Out Survey link on top.
I'm trying to get as many kids to take the survey as possible, from all over the country. Any grades from 2-8 are welcome. Any teachers or librarians
(or parents, of course) who are interested, could you look at the survey and, if you feel comfortable, have students take it?
In June, there will be a downloadable teachers guide on the same web site for See How They Run, which includes learning activities that teachers can do with the survey if they want. And things to teach in the fall about elections. Eventually, I will post the survey's changing results on the web site as well, so kids can see how their views compare with others around the country.
Again, I hope this request isn't an abuse of the CCBC. (For those of you with long memories, I also asked for ideas of good historic novels concerning presidents to put in this book's resource list.)
  Thanks so much--Susan
