Of course many of the extensive resources appended are outdated yet some of the stories ring as true then as they do now.
Besides, for a penny (plus shipping) what do you have to lose? The book is l60 pages!
In addition, quotes are scattered throughout the book which could lead to rousing discussions.
One of my favorites from comedienne Rosanne Barr:
"I talked to my real-life kids, and I said "If you tell me you're gay, I plan to be really, really bored. If you tell me you're going to be a Republican, I shall be shocked!"
Wouldn't this elicit a discussion during this time of year?

Lee, do you find that the book had stood the test of time? It seems to me that so much has changed in the past ten years or so that any book on the subject would be a bit dated. The same question could be asked of Ann Heron's groundbreaking book "One Teenager in Ten," originally published in 1983, and published in a a revised edition in 1995 as "Two Teenagers in Twenty."
One of the books previously mentioned, Eric Marcus's "What If Someone I Know Is Gay?" was first published in 2000, and a revised edition came out last year. I was glad that enough had changed in recent years to warrant a new edition. I realize that this is quite different from a collection of personal coming out stories, but obviously teens today are coming out into a vastly different world than they did a decade ago. That's one of the thigns I appreciated about Nancy Garden's afore-mentioned "Hear Us Out" -- it offered two short stories from each decade since 1950 to show how societal changes had an impact on the lives of gay teens.
