I am currently using Am I Blue? to discuss issues of teen's coming to terms with gay/lesbian/bisexual identities in the course I teach at York University, The Worlds of Childhood, but I have been thinking that I'd like to balance it with the real voices of teens
-- there was an amazing anthology called Revolutionary Voices edited by Amy Sonie which was fabulous but is not, sadly, out of print and there is a Canadian collection called Hear Me Out -- anyone on the list aware of any other teen focused books like this where teens have the chance to tell their stories? The approach of my course focuses on hearing the voice of the child so it would be great to have more "real" voices!!
