In response the question from Emma:
My collection, SIDE BY SIDE, illustrated by the illustrious Hilary Knight published by Simon & Schuster is, unfortunately out of print, although still available in many libraries.
Although it might confuse library services and/or patrons there is no copyright laws regarding titles, thus it is perfectly 'cricket' to use the title.
(Although I might think one could get into mischief if they used TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD or WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE!)
This is not the first time one of my titles was used.
It only annoys me (and this is MY problem) when a title I use is still in print, e.g. the recent MY AMERICA by Gilchrist (HarperCollins) when my MY AMERICA: A POETRY ATLAS OF THE UNITED STATES, published by Simon & Schuster, has become a staple.
I admire the work of Greenberg and I am sure she felt her title was right for this collection.
Thanks for the query. I hope this answers your question.

I have a question for Lee Bennett Hopkins. Or maybe it's a comment. Or maybe both. Isn't it strange that someone would title their anthology SIDE BY SIDE, after you had a beautiful anthology entitled SIDE BY SIDE many years ago? And how do you feel about this? There seems to be so many possibilities for titles, and surely libraries and even google is used to look for previous books and their titles. Wondering why you think someone would choose a title that has already been used. Thank you, Emma
