I have a poem published in my book, WRITING SMARTS, American Girl Library...My husband, Kiffen Madden-Lunsford, wrote it and kids love it because it's a rap about Marie Curie. He wrote a series of Women in History Raps for his fifth grade students.
Who Is that Girl?
She was a scientist Don't you know? She studied radium And watched it glow She won the Nobel Prize But not only that! She won it two times And that's a fact!
The kids really love reciting/rapping the poems and guessing who the "women in history" are...Marie Curie is a favorite.
All best Kerry Madden
GENTLE'S HOLLER, LOUISIANA'S SONG, JESSIE'S MOUNTAIN
A Smoky Mountain Trilogy
