[CCBC-Net] Head West w/ ALSC National Institute

Howdy Partners!
The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) will head west for their National Institute in Salt Lake City, UT, September 18 - 20, 2008. The Institute has a youth services focus and will cover topics such as Technology & Children's Services, Programming in the New Millennium, Inspiring Lifelong Reading and MUCH more!
Some of the authors/illustrators planning on being there for keynotes and other events include: Christopher Paul Curtis, author of Newbery Medal-winning book "Bud, Not Buddy" (2000) and Newbery Honor books
"Elijah of Buxton" (2008) and "The Watsons Go to Birmingham: 1963"
(1996); the author/editor teams of Sharon Creech and her editor Joanna Cotler, and William Joyce and his editor Laura Geringer; Laura Vaccaro Seeger, the recipient of both a 2008 Caldecott Honor and a 2008 Geisel Honor for "First the Egg" and author of "Dog and Bear: Two Friends, Three Stories" and "Black? White! Day? Night! - A Book of Opposites", both named to the 2008 Notable Children's Book list.
In addition, during Institute ALSC will be running a program called Association Connection for those new to Institute to connect with seasoned professionals through engaging networking activities and fun short programs.
