[CCBC-Net] Bullies Love to Beat Up, Repeatedly both sexes

I have been watching this thread with great interest. I think that bullying is one of those issues that no matter where you went to school, it had some impact on most kids. I know, as a teacher (and a former victim), I am constantly on the watch for it. The problem is that bullies are cagey. They know when to strike -- in areas that they are unlikely to get caught and the victims out of fear of increased retaliation, rarely tell anyone at school. I often talk to the kids about being a passive bully, or in other words, the child that may not be doing the actual bullying but watching it happen and doing nothing. Hopefully if we can get some of those kids to tell someone what is happening, we can reduce the amount of bullying at least in schools.

hello~ this article reminded me of a bleak time during my life for girls can also be subjected to bullies. when i was in the fifth grade we moved to a rural area, in fact the name of the school was Farmer School with grades 1-12. being "city kids" my sisters and i were ahead of the rest of the classes and subjected to bullying by a family who lived down the street from us.
we had to ride the bus home each day. getting off the bus and home before that family attacked was my plight for a year. i hated riding the bus and would beg my dad to move. eventually we did and i can now totally relate to students at my school who hate the ride the bus. a source of untold bullies having a captured audience.
