An incredible middle grade title is THE GIRLS by Amy Goldman Koss, a minute examination of girl bullying.

As far as the poster who said, do bullies learn not to bully by reading these books, I don't know. Probably not. But I do think it makes the bullied kids feel better to know that there are other kids out there going through the same thing. As a bullied child, I read Judy Blume's book, BLUBBER, over and over and over again. As an adult, I reread it and was shocked at how raw it was, how real. It was a cathartic book for me.
I visited a school last week that was reading PLEASE STOP LAUGHING AT ME by Jodee Blanco, which has to be the most inspiring book ever written about bullying. It's not YA, really. It's an autobiography, and the author is a wildly successful public relations person who was tortured by her peers all through school. She begins by writing about returning to her high school for a reunion and having people be nice to her now -- every bullied kid's fantasy.
