[CCBC-Net] Books re bullies

I think there are several books out there that deal with bullying in a subtle way for older students. The Shadow Club by Neal Shusterman as well as the sequel Shadow Club Rising. Another book that I think should be required reading for all teachers and middle/high school students is Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult (not written as YA). As classroom teachers we CAN "make" students read these books, but more importantly we can encourage discussion of these books and topics. By reading these books as well, we, as adults, can begin to see the damage that is done by our repeated ignoring of bullying situations and behaviors. Heather White
