dear all: so good to hear read these words about the people could fly audio.....
(and gives me a chance to make a little noise....) 1.the title story has been illustrated by leo and diane dillon and is out as picture book...along with a cd of virginia and james doing that joint reading....(knopf/random) 2. i was recently at midwinter helping andrea pinkney launch the csk initiative...and announced that: 3.ala of 2009(chicago) will see the presentation of the first annual virginia hamilton lifetime achievement award to be given by the csk/ala....and: 4.i had the great pleasure of a hug and (hurried) words with the (always) loving (and loved) ginny moore kruse....

ps:if i may be indulged yet again: next month will see the publication of a most extraordinary young adult novel by our son jaime adoff " the death of jayson porter" out from jump at the sun/hyperion....(hallie.patterson at disney.com has "arcs..." (and a fine project for an energetic student would be to compare that "arc" with the "real" book...and a really enterprising student could do a survey and even try to chart the history and sense/nonsense of sending
"uncorrected proofs" out for review....)
