Hello all!

This audiobook thread is my first experience on the ccbc list. I posted the message below recently to the alsc & yalsa lists, and hope you forgive the duplication, but I must echo my thoughts here...

I am loving this thread! I can't begin to list all of my favorites, but you can also take a look at my audiobook-focused blog for some suggested titles, and lists from presentations I've made. But I thought all of you who are audiobook aficionados would appreciate a couple of links. First, read a Booklist Magazine interview with Arnie Cardillo, producer of Live Oak's
"Jazz," the winner of the first Odyssey Award. You'll see just how much care goes into an exemplary audiobook. http://tinyurl.com/28mvry

And if you'd like to learn how to "talk the talk" of audiobook lingo, you may want to look at an article in AudioFile Magazine. As the chair of the first Odyssey Award committee, I interviewed audiobook producers to learn the behind-the-glass lingo that describes all those qualities that make or break an audiobook. http://tinyurl.com/2ud9bm

And for those of you who love narrator Graeme "Mr. Yumm" Malcolm: check out this Unshelved comic: http://tinyurl.com/2uaz2p

Happy Listening!
