Thanks, Jim, for posting the playtime story from NPR. I have shared it with several people. Douglas Wood, author of /Old Turtle/, has also written a book, /Nothing to Do/, published in 2006. It is a picture book that speaks beautifully to the value of open play time. He is a Minnesota author and it appears that this second mentioned book is not as widely available in libraries as /Old Turtle /is/. / But it is a gem worth seeking.
