I have always been a Read Aloud advocate. Since I became a published author a couple of years ago, I have been getting email from former students about my books. I received one a few days ago from a girl I taught in 1984/85. I think more teachers read aloud these days but there are still a good number who don't. I'm thrilled and amazed at the impact of reading aloud. Gerry www.GerryOBrien.ca

"You were the only teacher who ever read us books in class, to this day I still love the books Charlie and the chocolate factory and James and the giant peach. I love books and I love to read and you are a big part of that. I realize that you have had hundreds of students and I don't expect you to remember. I have 2 children now Emma 2 and Owen 9 months. My Mom told me you were writing children's books ... Now that I know the name of your book I cant wait to go to Chapters and buy it. I look forward to reading it myself and reading it to the kids, I have read to them every day since they were born. ..."
