Marc Aronson's announcement of a YALSA award for nonfiction is a welcome one, both because it will bring recognition to deserving books and because it will (hopefully) encourage more publishers to publish YA nonfiction. They're sure not publishing much of it now! Will the prize be given annually or every other year? It seems to me that the number of titles that would qualify for consideration is miniscule. Susanna www.susannareich.com coming in July: Painting the Wild Frontier: The Art and Adventures of George Catlin (Clarion) Penelope Bailey Takes the Stage (Marshall Cavendish) Jose! Born to Dance (Paula Wiseman Books/Simon & Schuster) Clara Schumann: Piano Virtuoso (Clarion)
