NBA winners are eligible for Printz. NBA can only consider US authors, though, and Printz does not have that consideration and three of the five winners were not US authors. That means that the field was broader than the competition in the NBA slate. I do believe that the Alexie book was voted a BBYA Top Ten, and that is good news. I'm busy reading REPOSSESSED that I missed this year, but am thrilled with the other Printz picks. I was hoping for ARRIVAL to get a nod somewhere, but hope that the buzz it's gotten all year keeps the sales rolling in despite the lack of a sticker.
