I just hope that one day the Today Show will give another minute to the coverage and allow the Printz winner to be included. I understand the longevity and prestige of the two ALSC awards, I do, but in a day and age when the media repeatedly maligns teens for not reading enough it would be a real boost for them to include a positive story that encourages teen reading.
Perhaps they could cut the Tom Cruise/Scientology book coverage or Brittney Spears' meltdown stories to gain the extra minute. ;)
Kudos to all the committees. I need to read REPOSSESSED and FEATHERS but otherwise I've read them all and really admire the winners. The good news is that I already had them all in my collections. Yea!
