The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum (www.lywam.org) in Wausau, WI will be hosting an exhibition of artwork by children's book creators Wendell Minor and Denise Fleming.
Wendell Minor will be giving several presentations at the Museum and the Marathon County Public Library in Wausau (www.mcpl.lib.wi.us) during the opening weekend, February 2 & 3, 2008.
"The Art of Using Children's Book Illustrations" will be presented for parents, teachers and librarians Saturday, Feb. 2 at 10:00 at the Museum.
"Oh the People I Know"--Saturday, February 2 at 2:00 at the Library--at this family program, Wendell will read from his books and tell stories about the people he has met and written about. A book signing reception will follow.
"Oh the Places I've Seen"--Sunday, February 3 at 1:00 at the Museum--A gallery walk for all ages, led by Wendell Minor. Then--set up a camp stool and try sketching one of Wendell's locales!
Denise Fleming will be visiting Wausau in March...more later about her programs.
All programs are free and open to the public. The Exhibition will be on display February 2-April 13, 2008.
