One of the most unique books of the year is WE by Alice Schertle (Lee & Low) tracing life from African beginnings through to 20th century development and back to African roots.
  Dynamic collage illustrations by Kenneth Addison grace each page. Unfortunately the artist died in 2005 shortly after completing the artwork for WE.
  This is a book not-to-be-missed for both its lyrical text and breathtaking artwork.
