[CCBC-Net] Last Chance to Nominate for the First YALSA Outstanding Achievement Award

Please excuse the off-topic nature of this message and any cross-posting. This is a new award and the award panel wants to reach the greatest number of YALSA members to encourage nominations. Nomination period ends December 1.

YALSA has a new award to acknowledge an individual's outstanding contribution to the field of Young Adult Librarianship! The award recognizes a YALSA member who has demonstrated unique and sustained devotion to young adult services through substantial work in any two or more of these initiatives:

? The promotion of library services for young adults
? Conducting and publishing research for young adults
? Publication or presentation of knowledge or best practices relating
     to young adult literature or library services for young adults
? Advocating for young adult literature or library services for young
    adults
? Mentoring of other professionals in the field of young adult
    literature or library services
? Notable efforts in furthering the mission of YALSA

The winner of the YALSA/Greenwood Service to Young Adults Achievement Award will receive $2,000 and an award plaque at the ALA Awards Banquet during the 2008 Annual Conference. Nominees must be a current personal member of ALA/YALSA to be eligible. The nominator does not need to be a member of YALSA or ALA.

Nominations will be accepted June?December 1, 2007 for the YALSA/Greenwood Service to Young Adults Achievement Award. All applications are due in to the YALSA office by December 1, 2007.
