The movie title for the Dark is Rising is THE SEEKER; THE DARK IS RISING. The setting has been changed from England to America and the first clue as to how badly the film visualizes the book is the opening scene in which Will is shown leaving school holding a cell phone and text messaging someone. Good grief! This isn't "our" vision of Cooper's outstanding fantasy.
But as Lloyd Alexander said about the film version of his book: once I sold the rights, the story was theirs, not mine. But if it brings young people to my book, then I'm happy.
