One of the worst adaptations I have seen recently is Eragon from the same titled book by Christopher Paolini. Not only were there many deviations from the original story, but the movie, as hailed by critics, was terrible--there are problems with acting and scripting as well as a rushed feel with the plot. Roger Ebert went as far as to say: "It's one of the absolute worst films made this decade...it's like a cross between Harry Potter and Gigli." In other words, I did not particularly enjoy this film.On another note, do you find that most recent media adaptations of print material allow input and script approval from the original author and how does this, in your opinion, affect the end results of the film/television program/etc.?
