Dear friends,
Please include in your discussions about Patty Maclachlan's work her newest book, EDWARD'S EYES, which Atheneum published in August. It is a sparkling gem of a book that extends Maclachlan's reach into our hearts and minds even further.

I love most of Patricia MacLachlan's work...I return to it again and again to learn clarity and simplicity of language and story...And I must agree with Megan about Once I Ate a Pie: I grabbed it from the library, cracked up reading it to myself, then read it aloud to my husband, and laughed again with him. The next day, I ran it over to the elementary school where I volunteer in the library to put it on the "must have" list...Even for someone who might feel shy about reading in a variety of dogs' voices, the language and format makes it easy. It's simply a priceless picture book and read aloud for many ages!
