" But do search for "My Place" by Nadia Wheatley and Donna Rawlins! It's a keeper."
The book is not owned by my Library system, but I was able to get a copy through inter-library loan and I cannot agree more - this wonderful book IS a keeper! I have already shared it with two of my co-workers, and they also love it. I will be buying a copy for myself through the secondary market, and will hope it comes back into print.
I went through our catalog to look up the authors listed elsewhere - Southall, Wrightson, Marillier, and Marsden. We own the Marsden book cited here - "Tomorrow, When the War Began" - at this branch, and I plan to read it. Interestingly, the only copy of a Southall title owned at my branch is in Spanish - "Hills End". The title in Spanish translates as The Seven Children of Australia. I have already requested and received
"The Ice is Coming" by Wrightson, and I look forward to reading it.
