Good morning,

If you are in the Washington DC area, please consider attending the presentation of the Am?ricas Award for Children and Young Adult Literature at the Library of Congress on October 6, 2007. We will be honoring THE POET SLAVE OF CUBA and JOSIAS, HOLD THE BOOK.

The Am?ricas Award is given in recognition of U.S. works of fiction, poetry, folklore, or selected non-fiction (from picture books to works for young adults) published in the previous year in English or Spanish that authentically and engagingly portray Latin America, the Caribbean,

The author and illustrators of both books will be accepting the awards in person. Details below.
