I also loved Adam of the Road and Door in the Wall was one of my all time favorite books as a child. I still love medieval history and literature! Door in the Wall has been read by many of my 5th and 6th graders with about half loving it and the others coming back with the dreaded "Boring!". Unfortunately, I have not been able to get a good sampling of readers for Adam of the Road-- too long I think.
Thanksfor your comments on Dark Frigate. I think that book suffers from bad coveritis. It does not tempt my readers despite its beautiful language and good story.
