The Rabbit Hill Festival of Literature, now in its 7th year in Westport, CT, has moved from its usual spring date to fall this year.
This year's theme is Imagined Worlds. Leonard Marcus will open the festivities on Thursday evening, Oct. 25, with a discussion of the importance of fantasy literature for young adults. The writers this year represent a variety of fantasy styles: Jeanne DuPrau, Gail Carson Levine, Rick Riordan, and Neal Shusterman.
Authors will visit middle schools in Westport on Friday, Oct. 26, and speak at a symposium for adults on Saturday, Oct. 27. Andrea Davis Pinkney will visit an elementary school in Bridgeport, CT, and don her editor's hat at the Saturday symposium to discuss minority writers of fantasy.
Dinner with the authors on Friday night, small group discussion sessions and autographing on Saturday afternoon, as well as an optional tour of the Weston Woods studios on Friday morning complete this vibrant festival just a hour north of New York City.
