Just how does a children's book get made? The Center for Children's Literature (at Carthage College, Kenosha WI) is pleased to invite you to "The Business of Children's Publishing."

October 12 and 13th, 9 am to 3pm.

This year's event features a wide array of people currently working in book production.

On Friday: Simon Boughton (Roaring Brook Press)"What does a publisher do?" Michele Wetherbee (Harcourt) "What does an art director do?" Sharon Hancock (Candlewick Press) "What does a marketing manager do?" Susan Roth (illustrator) "What does an illustrator do?"

On Saturday: Jennifer Flannery (Flannery & Associates) "What does an agent do?" Timothy Travaglini (Putnam) "What does an editor do?" Kimberly Willis Holt (author) "What does an author do?" Liz Moore (The Bookstall at Chestnut Court), and Midge Green (Barnes and Noble) "What does a bookseller do?"
