I'm very sorry to have to inform the list that Julia Briggs, the biographer of Edith Nesbit and editor of Children and their Books, died yesterday morning.
I know many of you knew her; she was a fine scholar and a wonderful person. Those of us lucky enough to be supervised by her feel very bereft today.
If anyone would like me to pass on messages of sympathy to the family, I would be glad to do so.
