I'm noticing a couple of questions I can answer...
-First off, Umbridge got the locket from Mundungus, who stole it from Kreacher. She caught him trying to sell things illegally and basically he gave it to her to get her away and shut her up - thus why Harry was pissed she said it was a family heirloom.
-If you check Mugglenet and read the interviews, JKR says that Harry and Ron went on to become Aurors, basically revolutionizing the office (as the whole MOM was cleaned up with Kingsley incharge). Hermione worked intially with the office dealing with magical folk like goblins, house elves etc (I think it was them) and later went into Magical Law Enforcement
(thus making a personal chuckle for JKR) who had Hermione say that she would never lower herself to work in that dep't. Kelley Milton
