Do not forget the old classics: Swiss Family Robinson and Robinson Crusoe. Those were probably my first introduction to survival fiction. We won't discuss just how many years ago that was!!
Another Gary Paulsen book is Voyage of the Frog, a story about a boy and a sailboat. Gary Korman's trilogy, Island is another survival series based on shipwreck. Iain Lawrence's The Wreckers and others in that series and some of his other works.
