TARAN WANDERER is a physical journey for our intrepid assistant pig-keeper and also a journey of self-discovery. One of my friends in Scotland was putting
her young adult son on the plane to Canada, and his last words to his mother
were, "I'm still Taran Wanderer."
An aside on HP. If Harry DOES live by giving up his magical powers, It is also how THE HIGH KING ends. Taran gives up the privilege of journeying to the
"summer country," and Eilonwy give up her magical powers to remain with him. They choose to remain mere muggles, I mean mortals.
