Here's a chance to plug my new book Someone Like Summer, about the impact of immigration on a small town in the Northeast, and more important to find fault with the slam at HarperCollins. How about all the kids lured to reading by Lemony Snicket? How about authors like Cris Crutcher, Alex Finn, Cynthia Leitich Smith, Sharon Creech etc. Have you read Ariel by Tiffany Grace, A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah?
