I agree. Publishers have to be if they hope to stay in business.

Dryden makes a good point. Thanks for sharing it. Ok then, if this is the problem, i.e., one reason publishers feel they need to publish celebrity books, what then is the solution? In my mind part of the solution involves getting authors to roll up their sleeves, way before they're even published and certainly afterwards, and become willing and enthusiastic partners in the marketing of their titles and the building of their platforms.
