Then there is the case of the super star editor, Judith Regan(?) whose rep was based on _at_#$%^&**{ ! productions. No, she wasn't in j. publishing if I recall--or was she?

Once publishing was considered not a trade, not a profession, but a career. Many houses still are professional and then there are the houses that produce surgically destroyed "BIG "books making them into little pieces. I have one here that is about a black 19th century horse but it's not the real book.
