Dear colleagues, I have learned from our friend Linnea Hendrickson of the death of her husband, Ed. As many of you know, he has been ill for quite some time and had been failing in these last few weeks. They had just reached their 30-year anniversary last week. Linnea has been out of touch on our lists for awhile, but said yes when I asked her if she would like for me to let folks know. Sorry for cross-posting, but these lists of ours seemed the easiest way to reach those who know her. It was from this list that I recruited Linnea for Kirkus after reading her brilliant overview of a Caldecott winner, so I know that she is part of this community. I hope that she follows through with her idea of coming to ALA in D.C. I know you'll agree that it will be nice for us to see her back in our midst. Karen Breen Kirkus Reviews
