For Chinese-Americans, how about Lawrence Yep's "Dragonwings"?

Lord's book is condescending and insulting. "Rucky strikes" for a start is like a very bad stereotype (and yes, there are "good" stereotypes). Whenever I think of the book I grit my teeth. For Jackie Robinson, better try Barbara Cohen; for Chinese Americans-- almost anything else.
