I have to agree with all the titles suggested by Susan Kusel. I use My Chinatown in conjunction with real immigration photos from my own family. The personal connection really hits home with my Hispanic students.
The Museum of the Chinese in the Americas < www.moca-nyc.org > was collecting immigration stories last month (both pre- and post 1980s) for an exhibit, and I was so impressed by the docent who was leading a school-age class during my drop-in visit, that I submitted my own family's immigration story. I'm hoping that they produce a teacher packet so all of us can benefit from their research.
