Hi Megan,

I love using Nothing Ever Happens on 90th Street by Roni Schotter. While working on a writing assignment for school, Eva sits on her front stoop, stares at the blank pages of her notebook, and waits for something to happen. Members of the neighborhood give Eva pieces of advice on what thoughtful writers do, such as ?Watch the stage, observe the players carefully, and don't neglect the details.? My favorite part of the book is the end, where Eva says, ?But just wait. It'll be even better . . . after I rewrite it.''

This book provides a wonderful springboard for discussing where writers get their ideas, tips for embellishing writing, and the importance of revising one?s work.
