These are extremely good books! Hopkins is a talented writer who's books are fabulous. Yes, Crank just made it to the NYT Bestseller after 2 years --but it is well worth the wait. The structure is well done and the plot line is engaging and simply scintillating.

Of her three YA free verse books, IMPULSE is by far the best. A tale of three teens in a rehabilitation center for those who have tried to end their lives, her writing is moving, enticing, incredibly beautiful. They are about "edgy team problems," but they really speak of reality and what how these topics influence teen life.

By the way, they are MUCH better than GO ASK ALICE.

IMPULSE RULES!
