As an ex-dancer and a writer who tries to find a different take on dance stories, I grabbed To Dance with open-minded skepticism. I wanted to be surprised - and I was. I loved the book! The matter of fact voice captured the crucial - wonderful and difficult - aspects of a dancer's life, and of the private life behind the world of dance, in a way that urges the reader to think through her own responses.
