We thank you for your many announcements and continued discussion of ALA award books.
Today we are scheduled to begin discussion of the 2007 Sibert Award winner and honor books:
Winner:
Team Moon : How 400,000 People Landed Apollo 11 on the Moon by Catherine Thimmesh (Houghton Mifflin)
Honor Books:
Freedom Riders: John Lewis and Jim Zwerg on the Front Lines of the Civil Rights Movement by Ann Bausum (National Geographic)
Quest for the Tree Kangaroo An Expedition to the Cloud Forest of New Guinea by Sy Montgomery. Photos by Nic Bishop. (Houghton)
To Dance: A Ballerina's Graphic Novel by Siena Cherson Siegel. Ill.by Mark Siegel. (A Richard Jackson Book / Simon & Schuster)
These are four very different books that really show a range of what excellence in non-fiction publishing can be.
What are your thoughts about this year's Sibert titles?
Megan
