Considering the results of a single word in this year's Newbery choice, I'm very happy that neither The Day My Butt Went Psycho nor Zombie Butts from Uranus won in their years. One can only imagine the storm either one would have unleashed.
I'll be interested to see the impact of "scrotum" on future publications, particularly if library folks decline to order this book. The next time such a word shows up in a manuscript, I imagine there will be some discussion between editor and writer as to word choice and potential results.
